LEAVE OF ABSENCE
- Leave of absence is not granted except for serious
reasons and only on a previous written application of parents or
guardians. In case of illness, where the application cannot be sent in
advance, the office should be informed by telephone (a letter asking for
leave should be posted on the first day of absence).
- As a rule, leave for purely social purposes is not
granted. Not more than one day's leave of absence, however, is granted
to attend a brother's or sister's wedding and half-dayfor a more distant
relation.
- Absence without leave for weddings, feasts, etc is punishable at the Principal's discretion.
- Leave of absence will not ordinarily be granted on the
first and the last day of each term or of any vacation. If a student is
absent without permission, his/her name will be struck off the rolls and
action taken will be mentioned in the school leaving certificate.
- Except on duly certified grounds, no extension in vacation is allowed.
- Any student to be exempted from P.T. or games must
produce a doctor's certificate to the effect that he/she is physically
unfit to take part therein.
- Students who leave without due notice or keep away from
school, for over a week, offering no explanation for their absence, are
struck off the rolls. As a rule they are not re-admitted.
- School attendance of every student during the Founder's preparation and the School Founder's Week celebration is mandatory. During this period no leave will be granted as student participation in at least one event of the celebration is compulsory. Strict action will be taken against those who absent themselves from school during this time without permission.
